Will donating blood hurt or make me weak?

You only feel a brief pinch for 2 seconds during needle insertion. The blood draw takes just 8 to 10 minutes. Afterwards, you rest for 10 minutes with juice and light snacks. Most donors resume regular office work and non-strenuous daily activities on the same day.

Can I contract any infection or disease?

Zero risk. It is medically impossible to catch any infection by donating blood. Every needle, collection kit, and bag is sterile, single-use, hermetically sealed, and opened in front of you, then safely incinerated in biohazard waste.

How much blood is taken and how fast does it refill?

Only 350 ml or 450 ml is taken, which is less than 8% of your body's total blood volume. Your circulatory fluid is replaced within 24 to 48 hours simply through regular water intake, and bone marrow replenishes red cells steadily over the coming weeks.

Do I receive a health checkup before donating?

Yes, free of cost. A qualified medical officer checks your blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and performs a micro-prick test to ensure your hemoglobin is above 12.5 g/dL before you are cleared to donate.
